Simultaneous Localization And Mapping (SLAM)

Simultaneous Localization And Mapping is a process implemented with unmanned vehicles to autonomously generate a map of an unknown environment and track its own position at the same time. The following video shows the application of an AscTec Pelican in SLAM research. Possible real life applications could be for example search and rescue or reconnaissance missions in contaminated areas.
