AscTec Falcon
Intensive research and development over the past few years has lead to the creation of the AscTec Falcon series. This new innovative multi-rotor concept opens up new possibilities that were previously thought impossible.
AscTec Falcon series provides you with a maximum payload of 1.5 kg. The series was specifically developed for professional aerial photography and videography.
This brand new and patent pending system universal mount allows the camera to tilt more than a total of 180 degrees, being able to view straight up, straight ahead or straight down, without any parts of the vehicle like rotor blades compromising the image. New imaging possibilities are created by this unique field of view.
With the ability to command camera direction in-flight, objects can be recorded from almost any perspective.
The Falcon is capable of landing autonomously when radio communication is severed or a motor/rotor unit fails. A safety feature, which is greatly advantageous when carrying expensive payloads or operating in difficult environments.
The AscTec Falcon is fitted with the AscTec AutoPilot. The AscTec Autopilot uses 11 sensors (three gyroscopes, three accelerometers, three magnetic field sensors, air-pressure and temperature sensors) and GPS receiver. Like every product from the professional line, the AscTec Falcon is able to autonomously hold orientation, position and height (GPS position hold) without any control inputs.
Control of the vehicle can be done by either using a signal secure remote control or path-planning software running through a laptop computer (if allowed in your country).
In GPS-Mode flying the AscTec Falcon with electronic stabilization is very easy and intuitive. In this mode you can learn to fly it quickly, without any previous flying experience. On rare occasions when there is poor GPS reception, flying must be done in manual mode. Manual mode training can be performed with our smaller systems (e.g. AscTec Hummingbird with FunPilot). The principle of flying is similar in all our systems.
